AtScale Release I2024.2.1 Summary

Product GA Date:  July 11th, 2024

Enhanced Performance for Excel High Cell Count Queries

AtScale has improved multi-dimensional result set assembly performance for Excel. This improvement automatically detects high cell count query results and auto-optimizes them. The performance improvement is observable with small and large result sets.

Support for the MDX Aggregate Function

It is now possible to use the MDX AGGREGATE function with AtScale Calculated Measures. This unlocks the use of Calculation Group Templates with Calculated Measures.

New DAX Function

AtScale now supports the UTCNOW DAX function.

New MDX Functions

AtScale now supports the following MDX functions: NULLEXCEPTALLMEMBERALLMEMBEREXCEPT. These enable you to control how sensitive your server-side calculations are to the inbound query context (i.e. the dimensions used in a query's grouping and filtering directives).

Support for Distinct Count Estimates with Databricks SQL

Always looking to add native support to the data platforms that AtScale supports, we’ve now added distinct count estimates (DCE) support for Databricks SQL.

Support for Enhanced Postgres Query Interface

AtScale introduced a Postgres interface last quarter. With this release, we've added more metadata support including the Postgres max column length parameter.

In addition, AtScale now more efficiently supports MIN/MAX queries on dimension attributes, providing improved performance for tooltips in Tableau reports.

Outbound Query Optimization for Multi-fact Models

AtScale is now optimized to reduce the size of outbound queries for multi-fact models that contain calculated measures which use CASE statements to check hierarchy members, and that emit 1-of-n measures from a single fact table.
