New / Enhanced Capabilities with C2024.8.0
Packages - additional functionality added for sharing semantic objects in Git. Sub-modules are now a thing of the past.
Changes to the User Interface - users of previous versions of container-based AtScale may notice slight changes to the location of certain menus and buttons, as well as a couple new ones.
- The product version ID has been added to the UI
- Refresh buttons for aggregates and queries has been added
- A cancel button has been added for batch building of aggregates
- The query tab now shows running queries in addition to completed queries
- Repo files and folders are displayed alphabetically
Introducing Composite Modeling - this release introduces the first phase of Composite Modeling. AtScale now supports the ability to fuse data models together based on common dimensionality. This allows the AtScale developer to design focused business process models and combine them into a larger holistic data model. Query Optimization with Complex CASE Statements - this functionality automatically optimizes the planning stage for queries on complex calculated measures involving large CASE statements. Read more here.
Support for Databricks Impersonation - this release delivers the final UI enhancement for easily configuring Databricks impersonation.
Deploy to Tableau Server - you can now configure AtScale to connect to Tableau Server. This allows you to deploy catalogs directly to Tableau.
Level Indicators - in this release, level consistency errors are now shown in the Errors Tray. They are evaluated upon save of the dimension.
Private Preview Features
This release includes some pre-GA functionality that customers can explore in non-production environments. If interested, please contact your Account Executive for access and additional guidance.
- Natural Language Querying - Query AtScale using natural language with new LLM support. C2024.8 will only support Snowflake Cortex LLMs.
- One-click Modeling - Auto-modeling now available using a single dataset. Existing objects will be reused where applicable.
