AtScale Release I2024.2.4 Summary
Product GA Update - I2024.2.4 - Patch Release on October 1, 2024
As part of AtScale’s product lifecycle support for software within the support window, this product update is a patch / fix release for general availability.
New Features / Functionality
Distinct Sum - Can be useful for ad-hoc many-to-many totals of Integer / Long Types.
- Use when configuring many-to-many relationships in advance is not practical due to the ad-hoc nature of the analysis.
- Will use aggregates.
- Not recommended for use with floating point columns with large numbers of distinct values.
Example: Total Product SKU Inventory from Store Level to Warehouse level without inflating totals when grouping by related dimensions in ad-hoc queries.
Calculation Group References to Calculated Measures - Enables putting standard components in a Calculation Group, by using the new Calculation Group "Wildcard" expression syntax. Benefits include...
- Calculation Groups now work with any hierarchy in the dimension
- More generic calculations mean fewer expressions to write and maintain
- Simplified experience in the BI Tool and less end user training
- It is backward compatible with existing calculation groups
Multiple Hierarchy Support for Semi-Additive Measures - Enables easier dealing with multiple time hierarchies AND the need to model multiple 'balance measures' across time. Benefits include...
- Eliminates the need to write 'helper code' to show specific measures when queries contain certain hierarchies
- Using the AtScale Design Center UI, you can easily configure balance measures using the "first/last value not empty" aggregation functions
- Increased re-usability of your measures within and across data models
- Easier to maintain your measures
